Pizza Capers (Cannon Hill)
This is the only Pizza Capers outlet we have tried. It only
opened in early December 2007 and we tried our first pizza from
there within a week of their opening. The first pizza we tried was
a "Reef & Beef" in the large size. the pizza was nothing short of
fantastic, without a doubt the best pizza we have ever had. The
combination of the steak and the tiger prawns combined with the
hollandaise sauce was just brilliant. We could not wait to try
another pizza from them.
We tried our second pizza a couple of weeks later, it was a "supremo"
in the regular size. We had such high expectations because of how
great the "Reef & Beef" was, but we found the pizza to be nowhere
as near as good as the "Reef & Beef". For a supreme pizza their
was a degree of taste missing, although all the ingredients were
fresh it just lacked a little something to make it special. Also
the size of the regular pizza is somewhat smaller than we expected
and for the price you would want a slightly larger pizza. In my
opinion you would be better of paying a few extra dollars and
order the large size.
Our third pizza was another "Reef & Beef" in the regular size.
This was approximately a month after our last "Reef & Beef" and I
must say again we were disappointed. The pizza just seemed to lack
the quality of our first "Reef & Beef" and although it was a
smaller size the toppings were a bit on the sparse side.
We tried yet another "Reef & Beef" and it was actually worse
then our last one. They even forgot to put the hollandaise sauce
on (which adds some awesome taste).
So it seems when they first opened they were really out to
impress, but remaining consistent appears to be a problem for
them.
